Department of History

The Department of History is an integral part of the College under the Faculty of Arts. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, providing students with a strong foundation in historical studies and critical thinking. The postgraduate programme, M.A. (History), was introduced in 2015, and since then, nine batches have successfully graduated. The department is committed to fostering academic excellence and promoting a deeper understanding of history.

To enrich students’ learning experience, the department has established the “Dharohar Club”, which actively engages students in a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. These include educational tours, heritage visits, quiz competitions, seminars, poster-making, and the celebration of important historical events.
