Grievance Redressal Cell

The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) of GDC Memorial College, Bahal serves as an essential institutional mechanism to address and resolve the concerns of students and other stakeholders in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner. The Cell is committed to maintaining a responsive academic environment where issues related to both academic and non-academic matters can be formally presented and effectively resolved. Students can submit their grievances through online platforms as well as through the grievance/suggestion box available within the campus. The institution ensures that all grievances are carefully reviewed and addressed within a stipulated timeframe, thereby promoting trust, accountability, and institutional integrity.

The Grievance Redressal Cell plays a crucial role in upholding a balanced and student-friendly system. It not only addresses complaints but also works toward preventing recurring issues by identifying patterns and recommending necessary improvements in institutional processes. The Cell functions with a strong emphasis on confidentiality, ensuring that students can raise their concerns without fear of bias or retaliation. It also acts as a bridge between students, faculty, and administration to facilitate effective communication and resolution.

Objectives:

  • To maintain a fair, unbiased, and consistent system for redressal of various issues faced by the students and other stakeholders.
  • To ensure strict confidentiality so that students approach the Grievance Redressal Cell without the fear of any vindictive activity.
  • To ascertain that immediate suitable actions are taken by addressing the faculty or by requesting the management depending upon the nature of the grievance.

Scope:
The cell will deal with Grievances received in writing from the students as well as other stakeholders about any of the following matters:-

  • Academic Matters: Related to timely issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates or other examination related matters.
  • Financial Matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from library, hostels etc.
  • Other Matters: Related to certain misgivings about conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers etc.

Functions

  1. i) The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students.
  2. ii) The cell formally will review all cases and will act accordingly as per the Management

     policy.

  1. ii) The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

According to the UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2018, composition of the Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted and members are given as:
