SC/ST Cell

The SC/ST Cell of GDC Memorial College, Bahal is an institutional mechanism established to promote equity, inclusion, and social justice within the academic environment. The SC/ST Cell undertakes several important functions and responsibilities, including:

• Reservation Policy Implementation: Monitoring the proper implementation of reservation policies and government guidelines related to admissions, scholarships, and recruitment.
• Grievance Redressal: Providing a confidential and accessible platform for students to report discrimination or related concerns, and ensuring timely resolution.
• Academic Support: Encouraging academic growth through mentoring, remedial classes, and guidance for competitive examinations and career development.
• Awareness and Sensitization: Organizing seminars, lectures, and campaigns to promote understanding of social justice, constitutional rights, and equality.
• Coordination with Authorities: Liaising with college administration and external bodies to ensure welfare measures reach eligible students effectively.
• Scholarship Facilitation: Assisting students in accessing government scholarships, fellowships, and financial aid schemes.

The Cell also plays a significant role in fostering a sense of belonging and confidence among SC/ST students by creating opportunities for participation in cultural, academic, and leadership activities.
