SC/ST Cell
The SC/ST Cell of GDC Memorial College, Bahal is an institutional mechanism established to promote equity, inclusion, and social justice within the academic environment. The Cell functions in alignment with the constitutional provisions and guidelines issued by regulatory bodies to safeguard the interests of students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). It aims to create a supportive and inclusive campus atmosphere where students from historically marginalized communities can pursue higher education without discrimination, fear, or disadvantage. The Cell also works toward enhancing awareness about social equality, dignity, and rights among the entire college community.
The primary role of the SC/ST Cell is to ensure that no student faces discrimination on the basis of caste and that equal opportunities are available in academic, administrative, and extracurricular domains. It acts as a grievance redressal platform where students can report issues related to harassment, bias, or denial of rights. In addition to addressing complaints, the Cell takes proactive measures to prevent such incidents through awareness programmes, sensitization workshops, and regular monitoring of the campus environment.
