Anti Ragging Cell

The Anti-Ragging Cell of GDC Memorial College, Bahal is established to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment for all students, particularly newcomers and first-year entrants. Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited as it undermines the dignity, well-being, and confidence of individuals. The Cell functions in accordance with the guidelines of regulatory authorities and legal provisions, with a clear commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. It actively works to prevent any form of physical, verbal, or psychological harassment within the campus.

The Anti-Ragging Cell serves both preventive and corrective roles. It undertakes awareness initiatives to educate students about the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging, while also providing a formal mechanism for reporting and addressing complaints. Students are encouraged to report incidents without fear, as the Cell ensures confidentiality and prompt action. Regular monitoring of the campus environment, especially during the beginning of academic sessions, helps in minimizing risks and promoting a culture of mutual respect and responsible conduct.

The Cell also emphasizes the importance of building healthy and positive interactions among students. Objectives:

Scope:

The Anti-Ragging Cell addresses issues related to:

  • Verbal and Psychological Harassment: Use of abusive language, intimidation, or mental harassment.
  • Social or Online Ragging: Any form of humiliation or harassment through social interactions or digital platforms.

Functions:

  • Conducting awareness programmes, orientation sessions, and campaigns on anti-ragging measures.
  • Receiving and addressing complaints promptly with strict adherence to rules and procedures.
  • Monitoring campus areas and student activities to prevent incidents of ragging.
  • Taking appropriate disciplinary action against those found involved in ragging, as per institutional and legal guidelines.
  • Maintaining records of cases and submitting reports to the concerned authorities for review and compliance.
