The Department of English at GDC Memorial College was established in the academic session 2011–12 under the affiliation of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. Since its inception, the department has been committed to fostering linguistic proficiency and effective communication skills among students across all undergraduate streams, including Arts, Commerce, Science, Agriculture and BPES.
The department plays a vital role in enhancing students’ academic and professional competencies through the teaching of English language and communication skills. In addition to regular classroom instruction, it actively organizes a variety of academic and co-curricular activities. These include extension lectures delivered by distinguished resource persons from reputed universities, as well as engaging events such as quizzes and interactive sessions aimed at enriching students’ knowledge and confidence.
With a focus on holistic development, the Department of English strives to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in both academic pursuits and future careers.
