Department Highlights

The Department of Agriculture, established in 2023 with the introduction of the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture programme, offers a well-structured and comprehensive curriculum encompassing all major disciplines of agricultural and allied sciences. The department is equipped with modern laboratories in Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Soil Science to ensure strong practical exposure. It emphasizes hands-on learning through field visits, demonstrations, and practical sessions, supported by a team of qualified and dedicated faculty with strong academic and research backgrounds. The department actively promotes skill development and entrepreneurship, providing exposure to areas such as apiculture, sericulture, mushroom cultivation and beneficial insect farming. With a focus on sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture, it regularly organizes seminars, workshops, and expert lectures. Students are encouraged to participate in experiential learning programmes, including Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE), research activities, and extension programmes, along with receiving career-oriented guidance for opportunities in agriculture, agribusiness, and government sectors.
